“Creating insight, increasing impact, strengthening influence – driven by behavioural analysis”
Behaviour as the key to effectiveness
In complex conversations and decision‑making under pressure, behaviour is often the missing piece of the puzzle. We tend to listen to what is being said, but overlook the signals in how it is said, what changes, and what remains unsaid.
Behaviour and cognition shape everything: interactions, choices, collaboration and trust. They form an organised system of signals that reveal how someone experiences a situation. Behaviour is never noise – it is information we have not yet learned to interpret.
Yet in practice, we still rely too often on intuition, assumptions or isolated observations.
Behaviour in Mind brings clarity to that. We train professionals and organisations to analyse behaviour in real time, in a scientifically grounded yet highly practical way.
Let’s begin with what behavioural and communication analysis is not. It is not lie detection, and it is not mind reading. There is no magical formula that tells you what someone is thinking or whether they are lying.
What behavioural and communication analysis is: A structured way of observing behaviour, noticing patterns, and interpreting them in context. It helps us understand emotional states, recognise coherence or inconsistency, and identify when something warrants further questioning or investigation.
The truth leaks out through the inconsistencies between the story someone tells, their "baseline" behaviour and the context of the situation they are in. Research shows that deception does not reveal itself through isolated cues, but through patterns of signals that do not align. (EmotionIntell-EIA)
“Most often lies fail because some sign of an emotion being concealed leaks. The stronger the emotions involved in the lie, and the greater the number of different emotions, the more likely it is that the lie will be betrayed by some form of behavioral leakage.” – Paul Ekman
Behavioural and communication analysis teaches us how behaviour functions and which signals are meaningful to notice. It helps us understand:
- What certain behaviour may indicate
- How to interpret it within context
- What our options are when we observe something relevant
It gives us insight into the situation and into what the other person may be thinking or feeling. It shapes how we ask questions, how we structure our communication and how we guide a conversation. By understanding behaviour more accurately, we can base our decisions on credible analysis rather than assumptions.
In short: it gives us insight, strengthens our impact and increases our influence when needed:
- Insight Gaining insight into the other person and the situation — including emotions, tension, cognitive load, manipulation or external pressures
- Impact Increasing impact by communicating more purposefully, asking better questions, de‑escalating situations and gaining confidence in your own actions and decisions
- Influence Strengthening influence through more conscious steering of interaction, timing and decision‑making
And it applies not only to others and the situation — but also to your own knowledge, behaviour and influence.
Not through tricks or quick conclusions, but through up‑to‑date scientific knowledge, genuine interest, attention, multi‑channel behavioural analysis, deliberate choices and practical application in real‑world situations.
